I’ve debated on writing this article for many reasons. Well I am a writer, so I’m told, so I suppose it’s my job. This should be short and sweet, because it’s pretty simple to understand. So let’s get into Roe vs Wade.
One quick side note. I’m about to piss both sides of the isle off on this one. So buckle up kids. I am the most middle/center guy you will ever meet. Like, gay friends protecting weed farms with AR15s kind of center. Truth be told I’m an anarchist. I believe if you’re not hurting anyone, you’re free to do whatever you want. The problem is people as a whole are damn stupid, and there’s too damn many of them. We require a certain amount of government to maintain a semi-normal life, so I’m told. For that reason I am forced to relinquish that belief, and I fall somewhere in the libertarian camp purely out of logistics. You figure out how to abolish all government, and I’m in.
Has nobody heard of the 10th Amendment?
“The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people“
That’s it. End of article.
At least it should be. It really is that simple. The founders of this country had just fought and won a war. A war to fight for their freedoms, from a tyrannical, overreaching, self appointed, God like, puppet master. They did not want to set up another one. It’s why we have things like the right to free speech, the right to bear arms, the right to due process, etc… The constitution is the law of the government. It does not dictate how we live, it throttles the government back from having too much control.
Enter The 10th Amendment And The End Of Roe vs Wade
In simple terms the 10th Amendment says “if we didn’t write it down, let the states decide”. That’s it. Game over.
Regardless of your personal feelings, the SCOTUS made the right decision. Abortion is not in the constitution, therefore it is a state issue. Period.
The Truth About The Reason
Now before you start rioting again, I am not anti-abortion. It’s not my choice, I think the percentage of women that use abortion as birth control are sick. That being said, there is a small percentage of abortions that would be considered “life saving”. I am not saying ban and outlaw. I’m the last person to ban anything. We’re all tired of the BS though. Using the Rape, Incest, Life saving, excuses is old and tired. Frankly it’s just BullShit.
Stats show the percentages of the real reasons. Now there are still some states that do not share all their information, so some numbers may fluctuate. But it’s time to be honest, and have an honest discussion.
I Wish My Vagina Was A Gun So It Had Rights!
Buckle up cupcake. Guns have no rights. We the people have rights to guns. Let’s just go with your analogy though.
If your vagina was a gun you could not take it to the bank, courthouses, government buildings, airports, or even Buffalo Wild Wings!
There would be size restrictions, they’d ban it if it looks scary (and be honest….some do) there’d be age restrictions and background checks, some of you would get in trouble for “high capacity” issues, and with this weeks current infringement, that is Red Flag Laws, anyone could call and report you as unstable. Look at you, most of you are right now! So cops come and confiscate your vagina! Here is the new law you can check out about it.
I get what you’re trying to say but you sound ignorant and dumb. Your uneducated bias is showing and it’s embarrassing.
Stop Dividing Us!
The world is not as divided and different as the MSM wants you to believe. Roe vs Wade has always done a good job of that.
That argument your blindly chanting right now? “They’re going to outlaw all abortions, they’ll ban all birth control!” Well, it sounds a lot like the 2nd Amendment guys. The hypocrisy of crying about this, while simultaneously saying “It’s just one little law to save kids (more irony) nobody is coming to take your guns.” is laughable.
Instead of acting irrational, and hating all men. “Men have no say in abortion!” (Suddenly everyone remembered there’s only 2 genders) try something different. Try working as a team. Want some help fighting an overreaching government? We’re right here. Us gun guys know a thing or 2 because we’ve seen a thing or 2.
It is us vs. them. It always has been and it always will be.
Dominoes, Roe vs Wade, And The Second Amendment
I’ve seen all the memes about “nobody stood up for my rights, so I wasn’t there to stand up for yours” there’s multiple versions and they’re all about the same. They are true. That’s why the 2nd Amendment is important. It is the last check and balance in place. In short “If you (the gov’t) try to take our rights, we will shoot you!” Well when the 2nd Amendment is gone, so is your right to speech, due process, etc… Do you think they’ll listen to your argument on abortion then? No. They’ll just throw you in jail for talking about it, or worse.
The 2nd Amendment is what keeps us out of concentration camps and gas chambers!
Look the point is this. Abortion was not a constitutional right. Roe vs Wade was wrong. It was an incorrect decision, based on incorrect opinions, not facts. That all being said, SCOTUS did not make it illegal, all they did was return a states issue back to the states. The way it should be.
Due to our necessity for some form of government, many of us prefer as little government reach as possible. I for one am glad our SCOTUS limited government control. I am a supporter of the constitution (again only because government is necessary for our way of life.) It is what governs the government. I stand up for all rights, all amendments. We all should.
With that in mind. When abortion is heard by the SCOTUS again in the next Roe vs Wade style litigation. When it is presented with modern facts. With modern medical knowledge and abilities in mind. When it becomes a constitutional right. I will stand up for you, and defend it just as strong as everything else. Take the fight to the courts, but do it right. If you want help we’re here.
